Anaheim Ducks head coach Dallas Eakins isn't too happy with the incident that sidelined No. 1 netminder John Gibson ahead of his team's second game of the season Friday.

Gibson took a hit from Winnipeg Jets forward Andrew Copp in the third period of the Ducks' season-opening victory Wednesday. Referees called Copp for goalie interference on the play. Gibson stayed in the contest, but Anaheim ruled the goalie out for its clash against the Minnesota Wild with a lower-body injury.

"That's just a dirty play," Eakins said Friday, according to the Orange County Register's Elliott Teaford. "That's what it is. That guy (Copp) knows exactly what he's doing. He's taking the net. He's going to take the goalie. Our goalie is playing quite well. That's what he's going to do. He (Copp) gets a two-minute penalty, and we lose our goalie."

The 28-year-old made 33 saves en route to the 4-1 win Wednesday and shut out the Jets in the final frame after his run-in with Copp.

It's unknown how long Gibson will be out. Anthony Stolarz took his place in the crease Friday.

The Ducks will see the Jets again in Winnipeg on Oct. 21.
