Less than two weeks after Max Domi returned to the lineup far ahead of schedule, the Columbus Blue Jackets forward is dealing with a new injury.

The Blue Jackets expect Domi to require two-to-four weeks to recover from a rib fracture sustained in Saturday's win over the Seattle Kraken.

It was a difficult game for the 26-year-old, who got winded when he hit Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson in the first period and then briefly departed in the second frame to go through concussion protocol before he was cleared.

Columbus head coach Brad Larsen said afterward that Domi's shoulder appeared to be unharmed after the Larsson hit.

Domi underwent surgery to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder in June. He was originally given a five-to-six month timetable but played in the Blue Jackets' preseason finale as well as the team's first two regular-season games.

He started strong in 2021-22 after underachieving in his first campaign with Columbus. Domi collected a goal and two assists in an 8-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday before providing another helper in Saturday's victory.
