antix won't boot in an acer 5 laptop
by quickbreakfast from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5R2V0)
Today I grabbed antiX 19.4_x64-full.iso from my nearest mirror, through a windose computer (which means I couldn't md5sum check the download) and using rufus created an usb iso with the intentions install anitX.
It'll be a short term dual boot while I check the wifi works, then the laptop will be solely a linux machine.
Digression over.
I've also grabbed the antix x64 base iso.
The laptop sometimes gets Antix to the grub screen, but followed by a black screen.
Other times the laptop drops to the grub prompt and awaits the correct instruction.
What I'd like to know is how to load the kernel and the initrd file.
Once thing I have noted in the BIOS is that HDD 0 is blank, but HDD is there.
Edit to add there is a SATA line in the BIOS...... Oktane without Raid
Apparently I can not turn of legacy.
