Mahomes, 26, briefly went into the medical tent before returning to the bench without his helmet, according to Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star.
Chad Henne took over for Mahomes and completed 11 of 16 passes for 81 yards.
The star signal-caller was in the midst of another uncharacteristically poor performance. Mahomes had no touchdown passes and threw his ninth interception - tied for the most in the NFL - in the first half. He also lost a fumble.
The Titans dominated the reigning AFC champions, forcing three turnovers and keeping the Chiefs out of the end zone. The loss drops Kansas City to 3-4.
Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown guided Tennessee's offense. The running back put up 86 yards on the ground, while Brown recorded 133 receiving yards.
