The New York Jets are acquiring veteran quarterback Joe Flacco from the Philadelphia Eagles in wake of Zach Wilson's injury, the Eagles announced Monday.

The Jets are parting with a conditional sixth-round pick for the veteran. It can turn into a fifth-rounder based on Flacco's playing time, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Wilson is expected to miss two-to-four weeks after suffering a PCL injury Sunday against the New England Patriots, leaving the Jets in need of a stop-gap quarterback.

The trade will mark Flacco's second stint with the Jets after he spent the 2020 campaign with the club. The veteran went 0-4 with six touchdowns to three interceptions in New York last year before signing with the Eagles this offseason, though he departs Philadelphia without logging a snap.

The 36-year-old will join Mike White as the only healthy quarterbacks on the Jets' roster. A fifth-round pick in 2018, White made his first NFL appearance on Sunday in relief of Wilson. He threw for 202 yards and one touchdown to two interceptions in the 54-13 loss to New England.

Flacco was most notably named Super Bowl MVP in the Baltimore Ravens' 2012 title win. He's accumulated a 98-77 record as a starter in his career.
