Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams won't clear the NFL's COVID-19 protocols in time to play in Thursday's NFC heavyweight clash with the Arizona Cardinals, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Adams was placed on the reserve group Monday and didn't travel with the team. As a vaccinated player, he needed two negative tests 24 hours apart to play in the prime-time matchup.

Green Bay will also be without wide receivers Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The club placed Lazard on the COVID-19 list Tuesday, while Valdes-Scantling will remain on injured reserve one more week with an ankle injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Packers entered intensive COVID-19 protocols Monday after defensive coordinator Joe Barry tested positive for the virus. Berry won't coach against Arizona. All players and staff must take daily tests and wear masks under the advanced rules.

The 7-0 Cardinals sit atop the NFC, while the Packers are one game back following six straight wins.

Aaron Rodgers could struggle to keep up with Kyler Murray and Co. without his most dominant weapon. Arizona owns the fourth-best scoring offense at 32.1 points per game, while Green Bay ranks 16th at 24 points per contest.

Adams leads the Packers with 52 catches for 744 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Aaron Jones is second on the team with 186 yards.

Randall Cobb will lead the NFC North club's passing attack, while Malik Taylor and Equanimeous St. Brown are in line for expanded roles.
