The Denver Broncos are trading edge rusher Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams for second- and third-round picks in 2022, the team confirmed Monday.

The Broncos will pay $9 million of Miller's remaining $9.7 million salary, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Los Angeles' acquisition of the veteran adds to an already superstar-heavy defense, which features Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. The Rams, who hold a 7-1 record, have gone all-in to maximize their Super Bowl chances, as they have now traded five 2022 draft picks.

With Miller set to join Donald in L.A., the Rams will have a formidable pass-rushing attack from the edge and interior. Both stars have been among the league's best at getting to the quarterback over the last number of years.

Most sacks since 2014:

Chandler Jones84.5
Khalil Mack76.5
Von Miller75.5
Cameron Jordan75

The Broncos exercised their option to retain Miller for the 2021 campaign despite the linebacker missing all of 2020 with an ankle injury. He notched 4.5 sacks through seven games this season, though he missed Sunday's matchup with the Washington Football Team due to a sprained ankle suffered in Week 7.

Miller has spent his entire NFL career with the Broncos since they selected him second overall in 2011. He has been one of the league's most consistent pass-rushers over the last decade, recording eight Pro Bowl appearances and seven seasons with 10 or more sacks. The 32-year-old was named Super Bowl MVP in 2015.
