Josephena Sampson of Stoney Creek said yes" to Encore on her Lotto Max ticket and cashed in on a $1-million prize.

In a news release, Sampson said she isn't a regular lottery player, and it was her son who discovered her big win.

He was at the store checking all the family's tickets when he saw the Big Winner' screen appear," Sampson said in the release. He came straight home and told me to get in the car. I had no idea what was going on!"

Sampson said when they got to the store the machine froze and she was questioning if it was real.

It took a few days for it to sink in. This feels truly amazing. It means the world to me to share this with my kids."

Sampson matched all seven numbers on her Lotto Max ticket, in exact order.

She recently visited the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation prize centre in Toronto to claim her cheque, awarded in the June 11 draw.

Sampson plans to share the prize with her children and plan a family trip to celebrate.
