Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is back at the team's training facility after being activated from the COVID-19 list, head coach Matt LaFleur announced Thursday, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

Adams still has to work through protocols this week but LaFleur is "hopeful" the All-Pro receiver will be available to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 28-year-old was sidelined for last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals after testing positive for COVID-19.

Adams' return would be a big boost for the Packers, who won't have reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers under center after the quarterback reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. Second-year passer Jordan Love will start versus Kansas City.

Adams, who led the league with 18 touchdown receptions last year, tops Green Bay with 52 catches and 744 receiving yards in 2021. He's also caught three touchdowns.

Green Bay also welcomed back defensive coordinator Joe Barry from the COVID-19 reserve on Thursday. Barry missed the game against the Cardinals due to a positive test.

"It's great to see those guys," LaFleur said. "They're fired up to be back. It's a huge benefit to this team."
