correct option value to stop Nvidia splash during boot
by LenHoff from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5RMJB)
I found several post, articles about preventing Nvidia splash during boot.
Does anyone know the correct option & "on" indicator to use?
I can say ONE of the "Enabled" type values (i.e., "1") is WRONG!
Caused bit of lost time, as it wouldn't launch Mint w/ the "1" in place. Instructions on editing (root) files from tty using editor were plentiful. Several didn't work in Mint 20's tty. I've edited files from terminal before (before Mint starts), but not from tty & not in LM 20.1.
Unless you're a pro, if forced to edit from cli before Mint loads, I suggest using Nano, which has many options at bottom of screen. To save changes, use "write out" option (^O).
Code:sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.confSupposedly, if in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, in the Section "Device", if you add:

it stops the splash. Not here. Found other posts / tips, that values like "On" or "1" had to be added after the "NoLogo" value.
I know for sure that "1" is incorrect & not using some "enabled" indicator didn't stop the splash.
