The Seattle Seahawks quarterback has been cleared to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers by Dr. Steve Shin, who performed the surgery on his finger in October.

Wilson, who hasn't played since Week 5 due to a ruptured tendon in the middle finger of his throwing hand, also confirmed his return in a hype video he posted on social media Monday.

Wilson suffered the injury during a game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 7. The 32-year-old was expected to miss at least a month and his recovery timetable could've been extended to as many as eight weeks.

The Seahawks, who are coming off a bye, missed the seven-time Pro Bowler on the field. Seattle lost to the Rams after Wilson left that Week 5 game and then suffered consecutive losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints while averaging just 15 points per game. The Seahawks snapped their losing streak with a blowout home victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.

Wilson is 2-3 this season and will return to the field with the 3-5 Seahawks sitting last in the NFC West. The veteran signal-caller completed 72% of his passes for 1,196 yards and 10 touchdowns against only one interception before being sidelined.

The Packers are also hopeful that they'll have their starting quarterback for this game after Aaron Rodgers missed Week 9 due to a positive COVID-19 test.
