Kvantum: Make your KDE Plasma great again!
by ~red from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5RNNX)
To all people who read this, I'm sorry but I'm still really dumb with this web platform :study: :banghead:
I try my best to keep you updated with changes always under blog/RSKYS or thread where I feel it's better.
Let me start again this time.. better.. calm..
Hi, I'm Pouria aka ~red, you also might know me as RSKYS username. I actually had no plan to state my real names on builds but the story goes back when a friend of mine saved me from Archlinux as daily desktop, named Reza.
You might know him with pretty much some handy slackbuilds around :D
At start we built audio player "tauonmb" which he said "This is true right hand of Amarok", then I got dig deep into shell codes and built every dependency of it myself;
Now when I'm thinking, I did the right thing, in order to get recognized as useful member to this community.
As server I've been on RHEL, Ubuntu, Arch(personal use, not sensitive projects), possibly Slackware some other time.
As Desktop.. I was usually choosing Arch-kde-plasma or Fedora-spins-kde(screw GNOME at anyways). Arch is mess and Fedora is just too much heavy, not that my system is weak, it just keep telling me "Seek for Slack, I don't want resource panics."
The idea of SBo is absolutely fire! I've used Slackware for some years ago, but really haven't got deep
Now as Desktop usage, I can't get out!
And the fact SBo is not at anybody's hand really gained my respect. People of AUR still don't know how mess that repository is still.
This was a short story for me. sorry got your time!
Now I'd like to state some cool programs of mine, I want to tell them parted..
tauonmb: I was always looking for awesome player, I can thank random people of Telegram + Reza who made thoughts to reality.
8 of it's dependencies and 2 of it's ex-dependencies are mine.
I remember clearly days Dave roasted me:doh:, but I actually appreciate it very much:hattip:
nix: Not gonna lie, I'm gonna stay on Slackware forever. Purely package manager of NixOS which can be also heard much these days, satisfying any of my needs if I somehow can't and don't want to write SB in that minute.
3 of it's dependencies are also mine. I actually worked so hard on it to get perfect build for version 2.4.
I can't thank Willy enough for letting me modifying it.
AND FINALLY !!
kvantum-qt5: This is early stage I believe, people on "master" wait a bit longer to see this masterpiece!
Kvantum is theme engine directly affect kwindowsystem and apply beautiful blur and transparency to your windows, panels, konsoles, dolphin! and.. You can also use custom provided themes from kde store.
Absolutely thanks to Willy, he's my fav SBo admin so far.:hattip:
So have you got it? I wanna hear about your setups sooner! ;)
Thanks for reading
