Gronk doubtful for Week 10 meeting with Washington
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said he doesn't think tight end Rob Gronkowski will be able to play Sunday against the Washington Football Team.
"I doubt it," Arians said on Sirius XM NFL Radio. "We think next week is a better timeframe for him. We kind of pushed it with the New Orleans thing. I want him ready to go the whole distance when we're ready to go."
Gronkowski returned to the lineup in Week 8 against the Saints after missing four games with a rib injury. However, he played just six snaps before exiting with back spasms.
Arians estimates that the veteran will be back to "normal" in two-to-three weeks.
The Bucs have looked to O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate during Gronkowski's absence. Veteran tight end Darren Fells also signed with the club's practice squad earlier this week.
Gronkowski has grabbed four touchdowns over four games this season. The Bucs lead the NFC South with a 6-2 record.
