How to Install LINUX on a blank Hard Drive

Hello members...
I am NEW to this website/forum and NEW to LINUX as well.
My old computer which was running with windows10 id no longer working. I even reformated the hard drive and since i have been toying with the idea to try LINUX, it is the perfect time to do that. However, not being a professional with computers, I am not sure how to do it. For starter, can someone tell me which ISO I should Download and where can I download it.
Also, Can I download it on a flash drive and is so, what size flash drive do I need?
I am sure to have more questions on this subject but if I can get answers to the above questions, it would surely be a good start.
