Unix / Windows User, considering Linux
by donimbimbo from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5S1GB)
Hello All,
I used Unix back in the late 1970's up through the late 1980's. When I moved to Windows I still used some "Unix like tools" from a company called PolyShell.
Now I would like to install a copy of something that replicates the old Unix environment (with tools such as SED, AWK, MORE) and a shell such as SH or CSH.
In addition a graphical interface might be nice to play with.
But I'm confused. Ubuntu, Linux, KDE Plasma, etc. Where to start?
It seems most of the information I find is how to make Linux look like Windows, not my first priority.
I think I have come to the right place to get some guidance.
Thanks for reading my message and looking forward to your response.
