ASUS USB AC53 Nano drivers won't work slackware 14.2

I recently installed slackware on my pc. I have an ASUS USB AC53 Nano. I installed the drivers, used modprobe on them and rebooted. nmcli radio says that network manager isn't enabled. I did /etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager start.
