Ubuntu Software

Going to Ubuntu > Software in upper left corner, then Finance, I find "GNOME Calculator" checkmarked because it is installed. Clicking into its information page, I see "remove", "permissions", and its rating (4 stars), a screen shot, and a list of its features.

But no where does it explain how to open it. Why?

In Google I learn that alt+f2 "gnome-calculator" will open it. Which is fine. I might have guessed that after a few variations. That's easy.

But why must I search Google to learn this? Why isn't this in the "GNOME Calculator" page?

Now multiply this problem by every app installed in my Ubuntu. "GNOME Calculator" is not the only page with no instructions how to open. There are many.

Why?

I've had the same problem in Fedora.

I'm posting it here in linuxquestions.org because this is the only community that gives me straight answers. E.g., if someone doesn't know, here at linuxquestions.org, they don't reply. In other forums, people routinely say things like "I don't know I don't use Ubuntu but just open a terminal and call gnome-calculator." Which is a worthless reply.

Thanks in advance for reading all the way to the end. If no one replies, that's OK with me too. I'm just venting I suppose.
