Early loading microcode - How do I do that? (@aus9)

Mainly posting this in order not to flood the "Testers for inxi/pinxi..." thread

aus9 suggested a new thread might be better, so here it is.

A quick search for updated bios for your vulnerable intel has only a 2011 AFAIK

I am not sure if a slacker can run a liq* kernel from
https://liquorix.net/

But as I prev suggested....you can run an early loading microcode that might null those warnings.

I can give you help to set up symlinks to your latest kernel and initrd and use a grub2 40_custom file to test out early loading microcode
but I do not want to appear to be either some kind of security expert or harass you into something you do not understand

@h2-1
Do you agree that its worthwhile for this poster to test early loading microcode if there are no bios updates?
As I am polluting your thread....I can offer poster private messaging. Or he can start a new thread.
I've tried with early loading microcode, but no luck so far.

I did the following:
1. installed iucode_tool
2. installed intel-microcode

Once done, I followed the steps in this old thread
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...de-4175621053/

Mainly from post https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post5804725 and on

This post I also tried:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post5805965

But here I get kernel panic upon booting (guessing I'm choosing the wrong CPU id).
I did notice that /proc/cpuinfo is not working for me, all I get for info is:
processor: command not found
vendor_id: command not found
cpu: command not found
model: command not found
syntax error near unexpected token `('
`model name : Genuine Intel(R) CPU V4100 @ 1.30GHz

As for the suggested BIOS update (link in the quote above).
That files is an *.exe file, as I have no windows I don't know how to try solve that part...

I hope this is enough info for a starter on what I've done so far.
Appreciate any and all help!latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=TOleFxb9UIs:WWwaR3ny1Uk:F7zBnMy latest?i=TOleFxb9UIs:WWwaR3ny1Uk:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=TOleFxb9UIs:WWwaR3ny1Uk:gIN9vFw
