At github.com why do I now get interminable rotating circle below green "Code" button, instead of usual list of program files to download?

I'm trying to download the program "mps-youtube" (for linux) from
https://github.com/mps-youtube/mps-youtube
But when I click on the green "Code" button near the top right of the page, an
empty white horizontal rectangle appears below it, with a clockwise rotating
circle at the left end, which just rotates interminably. And nothing else
happens.
This started happening about 2 to 4 weeks ago. Before that, clicking on the
"Code" button worked fine. It would display a small selection of program-files to
download, such as program_name.tar.gz and/or program_name.deb.
I use Firefox ver 49.0. Yes I know it's not the latest, but I don't like being
pulled through a hedge backwards by the onslaught of technology.
In Firefox, I've switched off the script-blocker and ad-blocker extensions, and
enabled cookies, but still get the rectangle with the rotating circle.
My questions:
Could you tell me what the problem is, and how I can download the code? Is
there an alternative way of getting to the github .tar.gz/.deb files to
download them?
