Steelers activate Watt from COVID list ahead of Ravens game

The Pittsburgh Steelers activated star pass-rusher T.J. Watt from the COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's crucial divisional clash with the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced Saturday.

Pittsburgh placed Watt in the reserve group Monday, throwing his status for the game into doubt. The linebacker, who is vaccinated, tested negative twice 24 hours apart and will be eligible to play, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

The 27-year-old's activation is a major boost for the 5-5-1 Steelers, who are attempting to close the gap between themselves and the AFC North-leading 8-3 Ravens.

Watt is once again in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 12.5 sacks, 41 total tackles, and three forced fumbles in nine games this season.
