Blocking websites..
by Metaphycisian from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5SQYF)
I'm trying to block some game websites.. Because i don't control the use of those web pages...
I have previously blocked this way;
Open terminal shortcut keys Ctrl + Alt + T.
Type sudo gedit /etc/hosts and type Ubuntu password.
Then at the bottom of file. Type each website's name you want to block like this:
127.0.0.1 www.lichess.org
example in hosts section but it doesn't work anymore..
Can somebody advice step by step how to block websites in linux to be more productive??? Also do you recommend some webblockers for linux. I found freedom but when turn freedom on.. I can put it off through my settings.. It's frustfrating.. I need help. School suffers..
