Driver dies after empty school bus crashes in Norfolk County
Norfolk OPP say a school bus driver is dead after a bus crashed on Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the single vehicle collision on Norfolk County Road 23 in South Walsingham just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 6.
There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision, police said in a press release.
The vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and collided with several trees," police said.
The driver was found with life threatening injuries and taken to hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The name of the bus driver has not been released.
Norfolk County Road 23 is expected to remain closed most of Tuesday morning between 3rd Concession Road and 4th Concession Road as police continue their investigation.
