[SOLVED] Noob question concerning recompiling a Slackware Package
by pm_a_cup_of_tea from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5SSGR)
Hi, my apologies for what is probably a very basic question.
I would like to recompile libXft with a patch. I looked in slackware.uk...slackware64-current/source/x/ to see if the Slackbuild and source was there but it wasn't listed.
In a situation where someone would like to recompile a package is it expected for them to write their own and track down the source themselves? This is ok, I'm still very new to writing Slackbuilds, this one, I think, would be easy enough, besides its good practice but I was wondering if this was the usual way of doing things or whether I was looking in the wrong place. There were packages listed with source and Slackbuilds available but not all and sadly not libXft
