How to activate pulseaudio for programs?
by slac from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5SZ4Q)
I have the program SimpleSreenRecorder (SSR) and it has both alsa and pulseuadio audio support.
The problem is that the pulseaudio input devices only appear when pulseaudio es being used, ie: I open a web browser (firefox) and then pulseaudio gets active thus allowing SSR to grab a pulseaudio input device. But if I do not have any program that activates pulseaudio then SSR only can grab ALSA input devices.
In such situation I need to somehow activate pulseuadio trough another program before SSR. Any way I can make pulseaudio active for alsa programs in a better way?
By the way, all the audio from ALSA programs are redirected to pulseaudio by the configuration at /etc/asound.conf
