Unable to perform graphical login (loops back to login screen)

System was initially installed as Fedora 32. Graphical login was no problem at that time. As each version came out, I've incrementally update to Fedora 33, 34, & 35 using the dnf system-upgrade tool. I don't remember the behavior for 33, but at least in 34 & 35, I've been unable to login graphically as my normal user. I first noticed it in Fedora 34 when I attempted to perform X Forwarding and began receiving "Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused" and similar errors from various graphical programs I'd previously been able to use. Attempting to diagnose, I discovered the inability to graphically login locally also. Graphical login as root and terminal logins as my regular user, both locally and remotely, have no problems.

As stated in the title, graphical logins result in a loop back to the login screen with the "Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused" error from gnome-session. The same loop occurs with LXDE, XFCe, and Openbox.

What other error messaging do I need to make a more useful diagnosis?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=dsH1-i4ooac:ObHzjLcf5Vs:F7zBnMy latest?i=dsH1-i4ooac:ObHzjLcf5Vs:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=dsH1-i4ooac:ObHzjLcf5Vs:gIN9vFw
