New England Patriots running back Damien Harris is active for Sunday's contest against the Buffalo Bills, the team announced.

Sunday's divisional bout marks Harris' first game since injuring his hamstring in a Week 13 meeting with the Bills.

Harris put together a strong performance in the Patriots' previous matchup against Buffalo, scoring a 64-yard rushing touchdown while compiling 111 rushing yards on 10 carries.

The 24-year-old's return comes at a much-needed time for New England after rookie rusher Rhamondre Stevenson landed on the COVID-19 list Saturday.

Harris and Stevenson have combined to form a strong rushing attack for the Patriots' offense. The latter has rushed for 465 yards on the ground, while Harris has tallied a team-leading 754 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Week 16 rematch between the Patriots and Bills could go a long way in determining the AFC playoff picture. New England holds the AFC East lead at 9-5 while Buffalo is 8-6.
