The Jacksonville Jaguars' search for a new head coach is already underway.

Jacksonville asked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for permission to interview offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Jaguars also requested an interview with Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, according to Schefter.

Additionally, Jacksonville plans to speak to Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, and Super Bowl-winning former Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The Jaguars parted ways with head coach Urban Meyer earlier in December. The college football legend joined the AFC South club in January but was fired after only 13 games amid several controversies.

Leftwich, 41, has been on the Buccaneers' sideline since 2019. The former quarterback played the first four seasons of his career for the Jaguars after being drafted seventh overall in 2003.

Jacksonville will work to put together a new coaching staff to aid the development of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The 2021 first overall pick was one of the most coveted college prospects in NFL history but has struggled as a rookie, passing for only nine touchdowns against a league-high 14 interceptions.

The 2-13 Jaguars are currently the favorites to land the No. 1 pick in the draft for the second straight year.
