Car fire leads to discovery of body in West Lincoln

A car fire in West Lincoln that led to the discovery of a body Wednesday morning has police asking for help from any member of public with video of vehicular traffic" in the area.

Fire crews and Niagara Regional Police responded to a report of an active car fire on Krick Road in the area south of Elcho Road in West Lincoln at about 7:30 a.m.

After the flames were extinguished, a body was discovered in the vehicle. Krick Road is a gravel road, and the cross street is about 12 kilometres south of Smithville and five kilometres west of Wellandport.

Detectives from the NRP detachment in Grimsby are investigating, along with the Coroner's Office and the Ontario Fire Marshal.
