No injuries reported after structure fire at Sherman and Princess

No injuries were reported after the Hamilton Fire Department responded to a large structure fire in the central city on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a rubbish fire" the area of Princess Street and Sherman Avenue North just before 1 p.m. on Friday, according to the fire department's incident Twitter feed.
The call was quickly upgraded to a structure fire and several trucks were called to the blaze.
The material burning upon arrival included a variety of scrap materials, scrap vehicles and tires, assistant deputy fire chief Steve Welton said.
Photos on social media show dark, almost black smoke billowing above the area.
Firefighters were able to quickly gain control and contain the fire," Welton said, and eventually they extinguished it, preventing spread to adjacent properties.
The dollar loss of the damage is minimal as the materials on fire were scrap in nature," he said.
The cause of the fire is undetermined. No injuries were sustained as a result of the fire.
Some roadways in the area were temporarily restricted to ensure emergency crews and the public remained safe during the blaze.
