Hamilton police looking for red SUV after driver hit cruiser

Hamilton police are on the hunt for the driver of a red Hyundai SUV after it was driven into a police cruiser.
Police received a call from a citizen reporting a driver asleep at the wheel with a bong on their lap near Fennell Avenue and Hoover Crescent, they said in a tweet Friday afternoon.
Officers attended and pinned" the vehicle, but the driver awoke and proceeded to drive into the cruiser, they said.
No officers were injured during the incident.
Police say the driver of the red Santa Fe was travelling at high rates of speed.
The SUV will have extensive driver-side, front-end damage," police said.
