Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't concerned with the speculation linking quarterback Russell Wilson to a potential offseason trade.

"The kind of conversations we have behind the scenes are not in line with the rumors. Not at all," Carroll said Monday, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. "We've been talking, we've been together and connected throughout this whole season. That's why it's easy to dismiss those (reports) at this time."

Carroll's quotes came hours after Seattle's 51-29 victory over the Detroit Lions in what was potentially Carroll and Wilson's last home game together.

Many within the NFL feel that the longtime coach and quarterback won't be together again in 2022, sources recently told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 6-10 Seahawks have already been eliminated from the playoff picture. This season marked the first time Seattle has posted a losing record since Wilson was drafted in 2012.

Rumors regarding a Wilson trade first emerged prior to the 2021 season when the veteran passer expressed disappointment with the number of hits he's taken in recent years.

Wilson said Sunday he hopes the victory over the Lions wasn't his final home game for the Seahawks, according to Matt Calkins of the Seattle Times.

Seattle finishes its season Sunday on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.
