Man seriously hurt in random east Hamilton attack
Hamilton police are searching for a suspect after a man was seriously hurt in a random attack Monday night.
The victim, a man in his late 40s, was approached by a stranger around 9:15 p.m. after leaving his vehicle at Quigley Road and King Street East, police said.
The stranger attacked the victim with an unknown weapon and fled on foot.
The victim remains in hospital in critical but stable condition. Police are investigating the incident as an aggravated assault.
The weapon used is unknown, but the injuries are not from a stabbing or shooting, police confirmed.
The suspect is described as approximately six-foot, with an average build. The suspect wore a black leather jacket, white hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes.
The assault is under investigation by detectives from the east end criminal investigations branch.
