Report: Lions, OC Lynn to part ways after Week 18

The Detroit Lions and offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn are expected to part ways following Sunday's regular-season finale against the Green Bay Packers, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Head coach Dan Campbell assumed play-calling duties from Lynn midseason after Detroit started 0-8.

Campbell suggested this week that he could continue handling the responsibility next season.

"I know that I'm getting a lot more comfortable, and I feel like this is something that I do believe I can do and be good at," Campbell said, according to Dave Birkett of The Detroit Free Press. "But I'm not ready to commit to what I'm doing next year yet. I got to sit down and process this at the right time."

The Lions improved with Campbell calling plays, earning a 2-5-1 record while averaging 19.3 points per game compared to the 16.8 points under Lynn.

Detroit also played without quarterback Jared Goff for three games due to injury since a Week 9 bye.

Campbell had never called plays before the Lions hired him this past offseason.

Lynn joined the NFC North club alongside Campbell after four seasons as the Los Angeles Chargers' head coach.
