Love - not just pollution - is in the air over Steeltown. A lot of it.

So suggests Pink Cherry, an online retailer of sexual health and wellness products, that crowned Hamilton as Canada's eighth-sexiest city in its annual interactive sex map" released last week.

But don't get cocky: the adult novelty company measures cities' friskiness based on consumer habits and per capita sales of sex toys, not who has the most models or highest coital frequency.

In 2021, Hamilton residents had a penchant for classic sex products such as handcuffs, strawberry lube and lingerie, according to Pink Cherry, whose not-so-scientific annual list dates back a decade.

The city has kept a firm grip on its status among Canada's sexy city elites after consecutive finishes in the top 10.

Only Ottawa (third), London (sixth) and Brampton (seventh) placed ahead of Hamilton for Ontario cities in this year's rankings, while Toronto (ninth) and Vaughan (10th) came just behind them.

Calgary and Surrey were the country's sexiest cities for the second year running.

Pandemic-spurred or otherwise, Pink Cherry says passion for sex products in Canada is on the rise. And it's hard to dispute: the roughly 10,348,200 inches of sex toys sold in 2021 were enough to top 475 CN Towers.
