Police seize stun gun from McKinnon Park Secondary School student
Police are investigating after a stun gun was seized from a student after a lunchtime fight at McKinnon Park Secondary School March. 2.
The student in possession of the stun gun is to be charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, police said. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
According to Grand Erie District School Board, no serious injuries resulted from the fight. The board sent students' families a message of assurance.
"We work hard at McKinnon Park to build a culture of inclusiveness and belonging," the letter reads. "We are taking this matter very seriously.
"This type of activity, and these kinds of devices, are not tolerated in our school."
