Mets’ Pete Alonso ‘thankful to be alive’ after car flips three times in crash

• First baseman says other driver ran a red light before collision
• Slugger says he did not suffer serious injuries in crash

New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso said he is fine on Monday despite being in a car accident in which he says his vehicle flipped three times after another driver ran a red light.
