The New York Jets and free-agent tight end C.J. Uzomah have agreed to a three-year contract worth $24 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Uzomah will flock to the AFC East after seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. He had career highs in receptions (49), yards (493), and touchdowns (five) last campaign while coming on as a security blanket for young quarterback Joe Burrow in the shallow part of the field.

The 29-year-old gives the Jets an established veteran at tight end, a position the team struggled to fill in 2021. Ryan Griffin and Tyler Kroft handled the bulk of the duties at tight end last year, but they combined for only 434 yards.

New York agreed to a three-year, $40-million deal with Pro Bowl guard Laken Tomlinson earlier on Day 1 of free agency.
