The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Cole Beasley, the team announced Thursday.

The Bills couldn't find a trade partner for Beasley and granted the 32-year-old permission to seek a trade in early March, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane said he was open to Beasley changing his mind and "no door has been closed."

Buffalo saves $6.07 million in cap space by releasing the slot wideout, per Over The Cap.

Beasley had a career year in his second season in Buffalo in 2020, catching 967 yards and four touchdowns. However, the veteran finished the 2021 campaign with 693 yards and just one score.

Beasley will join a free-agent receiver class that still has a host of big names available, including Odell Beckham Jr. and JuJu Smith-Schuster, among others.
