A fog alert has ended for Hamilton.

Environment Canada ended the alert just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

On tap for later in the day are clear and sunny skies with a daytime high of 18 C. The UV index is 5 or moderate.

If you're going to enjoy a patio today you should try for lunch or through the afternoon. The weather forecaster is reporting the high to be reached by 5 p.m. when temperatures will slowly start to drop to a low of 3 C overnight.

It is possible Hamilton could break a record high. The highest temperature recorded for March 17 was 16 C in 2003.

The average high for this date is 4.3 C.
