Seahawks releasing Dunlap, Hyder
The Seattle Seahawks are releasing pass-rushers Carlos Dunlap and Kerry Hyder, the team announced Friday.
Seattle acquired Dunlap in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020. He played 25 games and started eight contests for the Seahawks, tallying 35 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks.
The 33-year-old signed a two-year, $13.6-million contract with the club last season.
It's unclear if he'll be considered a post-June 1 release, which would save the franchise $5.1 million, as opposed to $900,000.
The Bengals drafted Dunlap in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He tallied 82.5 sacks and 103 tackles for loss over 11 seasons in Cincinnati.
Meanwhile, Hyder was released just one season after signing with Seattle. He recorded 33 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, and 1.5 sacks in 2021.
