Downtown Hamilton mural pleads for peace not war
by Barry Gray - Photojournalist from on (#5X922)
Hamilton street artist Scott McDonald has created another stunning work, with an important message.
McDonald, who has painted murals around town of Ticat icon Angelo Mosca and the Lancaster bomber among others, turned his attention to the war in Ukraine with a striking image of a peace sign blocking a piece' or weapon against the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag.
McDonald says he has an artist friend from Kyiv who he has now lost touch with since the fighting began three weeks ago.
The mural, Peace not Piece!" can be found on Hess Street in Hess Village, and took McDonald about four hours to paint.
