The Philadelphia Eagles and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox have agreed to a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday.

The deal is worth $14 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Philadelphia cut Cox on Thursday before his $18-million salary became fully guaranteed, but reports suggested the six-time Pro Bowler and the Eagles were in talks for an immediate return.

The 31-year-old has been a key member of Philadelphia's defense since the team selected him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He's earned one first-team All-Pro nod and three second-team All-Pro nominations and was part of the Eagles' Super Bowl-winning team in 2017.

Cox has racked up 58 sacks and 14 forced fumbles in 156 appearances over the last decade for the Eagles. He finished the 2021 season with 3.5 sacks.
