The Cleveland Browns traded veteran quarterback Case Keenum to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick.

Keenum spent the past two seasons in Cleveland and started two games last year while replacing an injured Baker Mayfield.

The 34-year-old has plenty of experience in the NFL. He's already logged 64 regular-season starts throughout his career, posting a 29-35 record.

The Bills began looking for a new passer to back up Josh Allen after Mitchell Trubisky signed a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency.

Trubisky joined Buffalo in the 2021 offseason after spending his first four NFL campaigns with the Chicago Bears. The former second overall pick attempted only eight passes last year.

With Keenum on his way to the Bills, the Browns plan to sign veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett to a one-year deal, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The team expects the 29-year-old to back up Deshaun Watson, who Cleveland traded for on Friday.

Brissett sat behind Tua Tagovailoa on the Miami Dolphins' depth chart last year. The former third-round pick, who started five games in 2021, most notably spent four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before joining Miami.

Baker Mayfield, who's started 59 games for the Browns over the last four campaigns, recently requested a trade after Cleveland met with Watson and tried to convince him to waive his no-trade clause.
