The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded blue-liner Alex Biega to the Nashville Predators for future considerations, the team announced Monday.
Biega, a right-shot defenseman, has played just two games with the Maple Leafs this season. He's spent most of the campaign with the AHL's Toronto Marlies, logging seven points in 31 contests.
The 33-year-old has skated in 243 career NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Wings, and Maple Leafs, tallying four goals and 38 assists.
Biega carries a cap hit of $750,000 and will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end.
