Ukrainian Canadian Congress Hamilton to host fundraiser for Ukraine

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress Hamilton is holding a fundraiser on May 5 at The Westdale to support the Canada-Ukraine Foundation and its humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
The event will feature music, film and conversation, and in the theatre's art lounge, there will be an exhibition featuring the history of Ukrainians in Hamilton called A Ukrainian Canadian Tapestry."
A screening of the documentary Hunger for Truth: The Rhea Clyman Story" is the highlight of the fundraising evening.
The film, produced by the Canada-Ukraine Foundation Holodomor National Awareness Tour 2017, follows the story of journalist Rhea Clyman in the Soviet heartland in 1932 after she witnesses a horrible crime, one that the Soviet authorities would try to hide for more than 50 years.
Larysa Zariczniak, president of the Ukrainian Youth Association, will address the audience and answer questions following the film screening.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. at 1014 King St. W. and doors open at 6 p.m.
