Hamilton police looking for suspicious driver who tried to get 13-year-old boy into his car
Hamilton police are asking the public for help identifying a suspicious vehicle driven by a man who they allege tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into his car Tuesday morning.
Police said in a release the man approached the young boy just after 8 a.m. on May 3 in the area of Dover Drive and Nash Road South.
The man exited his vehicle and spoke directly to the youth in attempts to get him in the car, police said. The youth walked away before the man drove west on Dover and then north on Nash. He was last seen driving west on Queenston Road.
Police said there was no physical contact during the incident and no one was injured.
The suspicious vehicle is described as a black, two-door pickup truck - possibly a GMC model - with tinted windows and a tonneau cover over the truck bed. The driver is described as a tanned skin white male, between 40 to 50 years old, with very short brown hair that's faded on the sides. He was wearing a black T-shirt with red and green bulls on it along with a black jacket and black pants.
Police are asking residents who live in the area of Dover Drive review any outdoor surveillance cameras that were active between 7:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. on May 3.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 905-546-2907 or 905-546-2963.
