Avalanche put Blues on brink of elimination with Game 4 victory

Nazem Kadri notched his first career playoff hat trick as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the St. Louis Blues 6-3 on Tuesday night to take a 3-1 lead in their second-round series.
Kadri produced a pair of goals in the second period and another in the third for the Avalanche, who moved within one win of reaching the Western Conference Final.
Mikko Rantanen, Devon Toews, and Erik Johnson netted the other goals for Colorado. David Perron scored twice for the Blues, and Pavel Buchnevich added the other for St. Louis.
Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Denver.
