Crusaders ousted in quarterfinals at OFSAA
The Sacred Heart Crusaders' run at the OFSAA AA boys' soccer championship came to an end Friday. The hosts from Walkerton fell 2-0 to St. Paul's Catholic High School in the quarterfinals. Tomorrow's semifinals are set as St. Paul's moves on to meet Mother Teresa while Holy Cross will take on Ecole Secondaire Publique Louis-Riel, who won their quarterfinal match in penalty kicks after a nil-nil draw. Both semifinals begin at 9 a.m., split between fields at Walkerton District and Sacred Heart with the bronze medal match at 1 p.m. and the gold medal match set for 3 p.m. Both medal matches will be played at Walkerton District Community School. The Crusaders finished 1-1-1 in pool play, drawing St. Mary Catholic Secondary School 2-2, losing to Ecole Secondaire Publique Louis-Riel 1-0, and shutting out Philopateer Christian College 3-0.
