Timothy Christian School on Mountain in hold and secure

A Hamilton Mountain school has been placed in hold and secure while police execute a warrant in the area Tuesday afternoon.

Hamilton police, including tactical officers, are at a residence near Franklin Road and East 24th Street, southeast of Fennell Avenue East and Upper Wentworth Street.

Police said around 12:20 p.m. that the situation was contained.

As a precaution, Timothy Christian School has been placed into hold and secure.

A hold and secure involves locking exterior doors, while continuing normal school activity inside. It is in response to an external threat.

It's unclear how long police may be in the area. Police said they will provide an update when the area is clear.
