Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was among those in attendance for Sean McVay's wedding over the weekend and used it as an opportunity to try to sabotage the Los Angeles Rams.

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Kingsbury said he jokingly tried to talk Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald into retiring at McVay's nuptials.

"I did my best to try and convince Aaron Donald to retire. Obviously, that didn't work," Kingsbury said. "I told him he's accomplished all you can accomplish, I think it's a great idea to go out on your own terms."

Kingsbury also jestingly encouraged Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp to hold out.

"I told Kupp, I was basically like, 'I know you and Sean are friends, but stop taking that McVay discount," Kingsbury said. "Hold out for the first three weeks and get something sorted out. And you can tell that did not work out either."

Donald was non-committal about his future after winning Super Bowl LVI in February but came to an agreement on a new deal with the Rams earlier this week, making him the NFL's highest-paid non-quarterback.

Kupp, meanwhile, agreed to a three-year extension with L.A. on Wednesday that will reportedly pay him $110 million over the next five years.
